Raku pottery is the result of a unique firing process.
Pots are heated to nearly 2000° then removed from the kiln and immediately placed in a container filled with a combustible substance; e.g. sawdust or straw.
Care: Raku fired pieces are not utilitarian like stoneware pottery, therefore they should never be
microwaved or put in the dishwasher. If you want to use your raku pot as a flower vase, a plastic liner MUST be used. Raku will ‘sweat’ if filled with water directly.
