Mc Cain Meadows
  September 17, 1984
I often frequent this spot at Mc Cain Meadows at the headwaters of Little Grey's River. Its late summer and the sun highlights the surrounding dry grass and willows, making the gravel bar appear almost white like snow. The few pines along the back cast dark shadows. Very little water flows this late in the summer; just enough to cool my feet as I sketch. At night the stars are the brightest here that I have ever seen .
